Course Overview

The Smartphone Filmmaking Seminar is informative and practical. Students will benefit from hands-on experience producing audio/video projects recorded and edited with their smartphone. You will hear lectures from international filmmakers on topics such as writing, cinematography, editing, distribution, and more.

 

You will produce:
Week 1 – An informational video
Week 2 – Motion graphics & a documentary
Week 3 – A short film
*Week 4 (optional) – Join Create International for a week of film production

Who should go?

We’re looking for motivated teams and students who want to use media as an outreach tool for evangelism and discipleship. You do NOT need to be part of YWAM to join this training.

 

Create International’s heart is for unreached people to hear about Jesus trough media presentations made in their own heart language and culture. WATCH one of our films below!

 

Bring your team!
Like football, filmmaking is a team sport. So we highly recommend sending two or three people from your ministry to take this training together. A team who can continue to produce media together afterwards.

 

Tuition & Costs

The Smartphone Filmmaking Seminar will take place 18 October to 14 November, 2026 in Northern Ghana. Individuals and teams are welcome to apply. The price includes accommodations, meals, and course tuition. You must provide your own travel to Jinja.

 

Course Costs
World C – $60 USD (216,000 UGX)
World B – $130 USD (468,000 UGX)
World A – $180 USD (648,000 UGX)

If you’re planning to stay for the optional week of film production with Create International please estimate an additional $15 to $40 (we’re still figuring out the details.)
