Create’s Short Film Seminar is a customizable scriptwriting and film production training to teach established media teams the art of evangelistic storytelling.

About the Short Film Seminar

The Short Film Seminar is a three week training program designed to provide you with an opportunity to learn and practice the art of evangelistic short filmmaking. The practical outcome of this seminar is that students will write, produce, direct, shoot and edit short films as a team under the supervision of Create International staff.

The Short Film Seminar is a great alternative to the Frontier Filmmaking Seminar (FFS) for existing teams who already know their way around camera and audio gear and are looking to improve their skills in narrative, short film production. Special emphasis is given to making cross-culture films for people groups in their language and culture.

As a student you will learn: 

  • Producing & Preproduction 
  • Scriptwriting & Storytelling Techniques 
  • Directing & Production on the Set 
  • Casting Actors
  • Securing Locations 
  • Postproduction
  • Marketing & Distribution. 

The short-film assignment allows you to put it all into practice. Each student will write a short film and work with a local crew to make the movie on a team under a trainer’s expert supervision.

Your trainers have extensive experience making short films over many years. You will learn their unique cross-cultural methods to communicate the gospel of Jesus Christ and their proven, field-tested filmmaking techniques. 

The Short Film Seminar can also be customized for your particular team or studio, and additional subjects can be included such as:

  • Culture & Contextualization 
  • Smartphone Filmmaking 
  • Advanced Camera & Lighting 
  • Color Correction and Audio Sweetening.
